Punjab Congress President Navjot Singh Sidhu will go on hunger strike from Friday in the Lakhimpur Kheri violence case. He had announced this on Thursday itself. Along with this, Shiromani Akali Dal leader and former Union Minister Harsimrat Kaur will go to Lakhimpur along with five of her leaders to meet the family members of the victims of this accident.
On the evening of October 3, a total of nine people were killed in the violence. There was a clash was between agitating farmers and workers of Union Minister Ajay Mishra Teni in Lakhimpur Kheri. Among the dead are 4 members of Kisan Paksha and 3 workers and drivers of Ajay Mishra Teni. A journalist injured in this violence died during treatment on 4 October.
Punjab Congress President Navjot Singh Sidhu has said in a statement on Thursday that if the son of Union Minister of State for Home Ajay Mishra Teni is not arrested soon, he will go on a hunger strike. Sidhu made this statement when he was leaving Mohali to meet the family members of the victim in Lakhimpur.
Along with this, there is also news that Shiromani Akali Dal leader Harsimrat Kaur along with five of her colleagues will meet the family members of the victims of the accident in Lakhimpur. Along with this, she will also meet the Chief Minister of the state, Yogi Adityanath.
Shiromani Akali Dal President Sukhbir Singh Badal said that a delegation of his party will meet the UP government. Also, they will pressurize them to arrest the main accused responsible for the accident. His party's stand in this matter is very clear that the culprits of this massacre should be sent behind the bars of the Jail immediately
