Government of Rajasthan released information in this regard. In this, the government has stated that 'this proposal has been approved under the centrally sponsored scheme. Funds worth about Rs 325 crore have also been allocated for each medical college. These medical colleges will be opened in five different districts of Rajasthan – Dausa, Tonk, Sawaimadhopur, Jhunjhunu and Hamumangarh.

Talking about this, the state's Medical and Health Minister, Dr. Raghu Sharma said that after the approval of these five medical colleges, now 30 of the 33 districts of Rajasthan will have medical colleges. He said that there used to be only one medical college in the state at the time of independence. It was in Jaipur. The current government has approved 15 new medical colleges in a period of 11 months. This is a big achievement.

The minister informed that a proposal to open one medical college in the other two districts of Pratapgarh and Rajsamand has also been sent to the government. There is currently a private medical college in Rajsamand. With the opening of these colleges, not only the problem of shortage of Doctors in the state will be solved, but people in remote areas will also be provided with common and special medical facilities.
