The whole world is currently vulnerable to the dreaded coronavirus.  Although it is difficult to say who will come in the grip of this Coronavirus, those who smoke cigarettes are very serious.  This virus catches the smokers fast and very badly.  So if you want to avoid this dangerous virus, then stop smoking cigarettes as soon as possible.  A new study on coronavirus infection revealed this information.

According to a study published in the journal Developmental Cell, why smokers may be at risk of being severely infected with covid-19.  Jason Schultzer, a cancer geneticist and senior author of the study at the Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory in the US, said, "Our results have shown why the treatment does not have a better effect on a patient exposed to covid-19."  Schultzer said the study found that smoking cigarettes release a large amount of protein ACE2 from the lungs, through which the corona virus enters the human body.  ACE2 is a type of enzyme that spreads heavily in the windpipe by smoking cigarettes.  According to scientists, quitting smoking will not remove this enzyme and thus reduces the risk of coronavirus to a great extent.

Scientists also say that most people who have been hit by the corona virus have mild infections.  Scientists categorized those seriously infected with this virus into three categories.  Men, elderly and smokers.  According to the scientists, the mice were kept in smoke in the laboratory for the experiment and then those who smoked cigarettes regularly were studied, the results of ACE2 were similar in both.  Schultzer says that smokers produce 30–55 percent more ACE2 than non-smokers.  However, no evidence has been found in research studies that age or sex have any effect on ACE2 levels in the lung.  But people who smoke cigarettes are born in huge amounts in their lungs.
