National Girlfriends Day 2023: This day encourages people to cherish their female friends and acknowledge the positive impact they have on their lives. It is a time to reminisce about the cherished memories, laughter, and shared experiences that have strengthened the friendship over the years.

In a world that often emphasizes romantic relationships, National Girlfriends Day serves as a reminder of the importance of non-romantic relationships in our lives. It's an opportunity to celebrate and recognize the unique and valuable bonds that exist between friends, making it a special and meaningful day for women everywhere.

National Girlfriends Day 2023: List of best movies to watch with your girls

1. Queen

Queen invites all young women to overcome their worries, answer the call, and travel alone at least once in their lives. The plot revolves around a female who travels on a solo trip to Paris for her honeymoon.

Rani, the main character, falls in love with herself while strolling the beautiful streets of Paris and Amsterdam. The film brilliantly reinvented the concept of lone travel. The excursions we take by ourselves are, in fact, journeys within ourselves.

2. Kahaani

The efforts of a pregnant woman (Vidya Balan) to discover her missing husband make her the target of an assassin sent by her husband's mysterious employers.

Vidya Balan as Vidya Bagchi dazzles the audience in this thriller film. Sujoy Ghosh co-produced and directed the film, which examines topics of feminism and womanhood.

The film opens with Vidya Bagchi embarking on a trip to find her missing husband, but it quickly escalates until we discover the underlying truth. The film was not only critically lauded but also a commercial triumph, receiving wonderful reviews.

3. Highway

In this offbeat drama, Alia Bhatt plays Veera Tripathi. Imtiaz Ali tells the story of a little girl who, paradoxically, finds freedom after being kidnapped.

The story quietly implies that Veera felt confined and emotionally drained at home, which accounted for her childhood turmoil. After being kidnapped, she begins to crave the unfamiliar journey.

Alia Bhatt demonstrated her acting abilities with a compelling portrayal of an honest young girl seeking freedom.

4. English Vinglish

After being unable to place a simple order in an American restaurant, a traditional-minded Indian housewife (Sridevi) enrolls in an accelerated English-language school.

A middle-aged modest entrepreneur who has committed her life towards the wellbeing of her family.

Gauri Shinde brings to life the touching story of Shashi, who is teased by her family because of her limited English proficiency. She flies to the United States to attend English classes, which results in a significant increase in her confidence.

English Vinglish heralded Sridevi's return to the big screen after a long absence. The actress added a refreshing genuineness to the film, and her obvious discomfort with the language endeared her to the viewers.

5. Mardaani

Rani Mukherjee plays Shivani Shivaji Roy, a brave and powerful police officer, in Mardaani. Pradeep Sarkar, the filmmaker, portrayed an honest and bold protagonist who puts her heart and head into dealing with criminals.

Shivani falls into a child-trafficking ring, escalating the action-packed crime thriller. The movie only gets more interesting as she gets closer to locating the kingpin.

Rani Mukherjee's performance in the film is regarded as one of her greatest. Her performance on TV is genuine and sympathetic, with some tough speech. She is a formidable force who gives the character power, strength, and dignity.

6. Fashion

Madhur Bhandarkar's daring documentary was widely praised. Meghna (Priyanka Chopra) had always wanted to leave her little Indian town and make it in the world of high fashion, but her parents have other plans for her. When she wins a local contest, she packs her belongings and moves to Mumbai to pursue her aspirations.

Although she initially succeeds in modeling, she makes a mistake when she becomes pregnant by her married boss. She must then decide whether to leave the huge metropolis, scared and alone.
