Shahi Pulao: Try this Amazing Recipe at Home

Shahi Pulao: This dish is also good for children because they eat rice happily and they also get nourishment from the dry fruits added to it.

Shahi Pulao is perfect dish for guests at home or if there is a special occasion or if you want to try a new dish of rice. The special thing is that it is very easy to make, but the taste is such that everyone would like to eat it again and again. This dish is also good for children because they eat rice happily and they also get nourishment from the dry fruits added to it.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup basmati rice

  • 1 teaspoon cumin seeds

  • 1 medium onion

  • 2 bay leaves

  • 5 Green Cardamom

  • 5 large cardamom

  • 6-7 Black Pepper

  • 5-6 cloves

  • 1/3 cup cashew nuts

  • 1/3 cup almonds

  • 1 tablespoon raisins

  • 2 tablespoons Ghee

  • 2 cups of water to soak rice

  • 7-8 threads of saffron

Method of making Shahi Pulao

 Step 1

First wash one cup of rice thoroughly, then soak it in two cups of water for 20 minutes. Also soak cashews, almonds and raisins in a bowl. Cut the onion lengthwise and thinly.

 Step 2

Take a big cooker and add ghee to it. When the ghee gets hot, add bay leaf, black pepper, cardamom, big cardamom, cloves and then add onion. Let it turn light pink. Now add almonds, cashews and raisins to it and fry for about a minute.

Step 3

Drain the water from the rice and put them in the cooker and let them cook for about 30 seconds. After this add the remaining rice water and close the lid.

Step 4

Keep the cooker on medium heat. After 3-4 whistles, switch off the flame. Open the cooker only when it cools down a bit. Rice will blossom with the steam present in the cooker.

Step 5

After opening the cooker, put saffron in it and close the lid again. After five minutes, take it out in a serving bowl and pour two spoons of ghee on top and serve.
