Chief Minister of Assam Himanta Biswa Sarma hosted his Meghalaya counterpart Conrad Sangma for a meeting in Guwahati to discuss progress in resolving the border dispute between the two neighbours. This is the second chief minister-level meeting between the two states on the issue in two months and the fourth meeting after Sarma took over as the chief minister of Assam in May this year.

Expressing satisfaction over the progress made so far, Konrad Sangma tweeted, "We have made very positive progress through our joint dialogue and look forward to arriving at an amicable solution soon."
