Bangladesh Protests: Why Sheikh Hasina Didn't Go to London: How Long Will She Stay in India?

Since Independence

Bangladesh Protests: Bangladesh is currently facing a severe crisis. Amidst massive protests and violence, Sheikh Hasina has resigned from her position as Prime Minister and has arrived in India.

She landed at the Hindon Airbase in Ghaziabad on Monday evening. There were reports that Sheikh Hasina might leave for London from here.

However, sources have informed that her plan to travel to London has been delayed due to some uncertainties. It is unlikely that she will leave India in the next few days. Let's understand the whole situation in detail.

Sheikh Hasina Taken to An Unknown Location in India

Sheikh Hasina landed at Hindon airbase on Monday, just hours after resigning from the post of Prime Minister. According to reports, she has been taken to an undisclosed location and kept under tight security.

Her associates had informed Indian authorities about this before her arrival at Hindon.

Why Didn't She Go to London?

Sources have reported that Hasina was planning to travel to London from India but is now considering other options. The change comes as the UK government has indicated that she may not enjoy legal protection against any potential investigations into the large-scale violent protests in Britain.

UK Foreign Secretary David Lammy stated in London on Monday that Bangladesh has witnessed unprecedented levels of violence and tragic loss of life in recent weeks, and the people of the country deserve a full and independent investigation led by the United Nations.

Sheikh Hasina Will Not Make a Political Comeback

Amidst the turmoil in Bangladesh, Sheikh Hasina's son and former official advisor, Sajeeb Wazed Joy, made significant revelations on Monday.

Sajeeb stated that Sheikh Hasina left the country for her safety at the request of her family. He also mentioned that there will be no political comeback for his mother, Sheikh Hasina.
