On the 35th day of the Congress' Bharat Jodo Yatra, party leader Rahul Gandhi accused the Karnataka government of auctioning off state jobs. "The twin engine of the BJP is devouring the future of the young," he added, adding that the BJP administration in Karnataka is busy "selling jobs" while the state's youth are unemployed.

Karnataka is the first BJP-ruled state to join the yatra. Previously, the yatra passed via Kerala and Tamil Nadu. Even before it arrived in the state, the yatra was dogged by controversy.

Posters of Congress leaders welcoming them were ripped

A day before the yatra arrived in Karnataka, posters of Congress leaders welcoming them were ripped.

Meanwhile, in Ballari, Congress workers staged a protest march against the municipal corporation after they removed flexes put by party officials.

Anjaneyulu, a Congress legislative wannabe, had placed the flexes before the yatra arrived in the region.

The yatra resumed on Wednesday from Challekere town and will stop for the day at Hirehalli.
