Delhi Liquor Scam: Former Deputy Chief Minister of Delhi, Manish Sisodia, did not receive relief today in the money laundering case related to the Delhi liquor policy. The Delhi's Rouse Avenue Court has extended Manish Sisodia's judicial custody until April 18.
The next hearing for this case in the Rouse Avenue Court will now be on April 18.
Manish Sisodia has been in jail since February 26, 2023, in connection with this case. The CBI and ED claim that Sisodia changed the liquor policy to benefit liquor traders, resulting in significant bribes for politicians.
Before this, Manish Sisodia wrote a letter to the people of his legislative constituency from Tihar Jail. In this letter, he compared his situation to the atrocities committed by the British against freedom fighters and expressed his commitment to education.
Sisodia also expressed hope that he would soon be released from jail. He said, "I will meet you soon. Like the British rulers, those in power also have arrogance, and they have sent people to jail in false cases.
In the same vein, politics is heating up over the issue. Sanjay Singh, a leader of the Aam Aadmi Party, has claimed that Arvind Kejriwal and Manish Sisodia will soon be out of jail because it wasn't the Aam Aadmi Party but the BJP who committed the scam. He has also put forth his arguments in this regard.
