J&K: Terror Associate Linked to Hizbul Mujahideen Apprehended in Kishtwar with Chinese Grenade

In a significant development, security forces in Kishtwar, Jammu and Kashmir, have apprehended an active associate affiliated with the banned terrorist organization Hizbul Mujahideen (HM). Alongside the arrest, authorities have also seized a Chinese grenade.

The operation was conducted jointly by the Kishtwar Police, the Army, and the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF). The detained individual, identified as Mohd Yousaf Chouhan, hails from Chhar Cherji in Kishtwar.

The search operation encompassed multiple areas including Cherji, Chicha, and Padyarna, resulting in the capture of the Hizbul associate.

Following inputs regarding his alleged involvement in terror activities, an FIR was lodged against Mohd Yousaf Chouhan at the Kishtwar Police Station.

The FIR invoked relevant sections of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, the Explosive Substances Act, and other applicable laws.

Upon the registration of the case, Kishtwar Senior Superintendent of Police Khalil Poswal took swift action by deploying police teams along with personnel from the Army and the CRPF.

Their combined efforts led to the successful apprehension of the accused.

During the subsequent interrogation, Yousaf Chouhan divulged the location where the Chinese grenade was concealed.
