NCP MLA Jitendra Awhad Faces Mounting Troubles, FIR Registered in Mumbai Over Remarks on Lord Ram

The difficulties for Jitendra Awhad, a legislator associated with the NCP (Sharad Pawar group) who has labelled Lord Ram as a meat-eater, have increased.

An FIR has been registered against Jitendra at the MIDC police station in Mumbai.

Mumbai Police stated that a case has been filed against the legislator under section 295(A) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), which pertains to hurting religious sentiments. Before this, a case had been filed against Jitendra Awhad in Pune.

Bajrang Dal had Filed a Complaint

According to the information received, a Bajrang Dal official lodged a complaint on Thursday at the MIDC police station, demanding the registration of an FIR against Jitendra Awhad.

Following this, on Friday, MIDC police registered an FIR against Jitendra Awhad.

Controversial Statement by Jitendra Awhad Awhad

Jitendra Awhad, a leader from the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP), stirred controversy on Wednesday by stating that Lord Ram was a 'non-vegetarian'. A video of the NCP leader's statement circulated widely on social media, prompting strong reactions from different segments.

"Ram belongs to us, to the Bahujan. Ram used to hunt and eat meat. While you advocate vegetarianism, we regard him as our inspiration and eat mutton. He was not a vegetarian; he was a non-vegetarian,".
