PM Modi's LPG Price Gesture

During a news conference, Union Minister Anurag Thakur stated that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has decided to reduce the price of home LPG cylinders by Rs 200, as a gesture to the nation's ladies on the occasion of Raksha Bandhan.

This action is significant under the Ujjwala scheme since 75 lakh women are set to obtain free gas connections during the Rakhi and Onam festivals.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi underlined that lower gas prices will improve people's comfort.

He expressed his thoughts on the Raksha Bandhan celebration via 'X' (previously known as Twitter), saying that it is an opportunity to convey joy to our families.

Empowering Women and Gas Subsidy

The lower petrol prices are expected to add to the well-being and comfort of his family's women, demonstrating his hope for their happiness and health.

The Ujjwala scheme continues to benefit 9.6 crore people. According to reports, India relies significantly on imports to cover 60% of its natural gas demands.

Thakur also emphasized the Modi government's measures to empower women, such as providing good housing, sanitary facilities, supplemental food supplies, and Direct Benefit Transfers, notably during the difficult times of the COVID-19 outbreak.
