Prime Minister Modi to Personally Inspect Odisha Train Accident Site Today

Odisha Train Accident: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to visit Balasore in Odisha today, following the tragic train accident that resulted in the loss of nearly 300 lives and left over 900 people injured.

According to the sources, the prime minister will commence his visit by paying a visit to the location of the train accident.

Subsequently, PM Modi will proceed to the hospital in Cuttack, where the injured victims are currently receiving medical treatment and care.

Odisha Train Accident

In response to the tragic train accident in Odisha, Prime Minister Narendra Modi took immediate action by convening a meeting earlier today.

Government sources revealed that the purpose of the meeting was to thoroughly review the situation and discuss the necessary steps to be taken in the aftermath of the incident.

Relief and rescue operations are still in progress

As per the latest updates, the crucial relief and rescue operations are still in progress. The derailed coaches have resulted in numerous individuals being trapped, and the local community has been actively assisting the emergency service personnel in their efforts to rescue them.

Chief Secretary Pradeep Jena has reported the involvement of 7 NDRF (National Disaster Response Force) teams, 5 ODRAF (Odisha Disaster Rapid Action Force) teams, 24 Fire Service units, local police, and dedicated volunteers who are tirelessly engaged in the search and rescue mission.

Their collective endeavours reflect the commitment to saving lives during this challenging situation.

Odisha Train Accident: Statewide mourning declared

In response to the horrific train accident in Balasore, Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik declared a day of state mourning on Saturday.

This gesture aims to honour the victims and acknowledge the immense loss suffered by the state.

This recent train accident stands as one of the most catastrophic incidents witnessed in India. The collision involved the Bengaluru-Howrah Superfast Express, the Shalimar-Chennai Central Coromandel Express, and a goods train.
