Why Do We Need 400 Seats to Reclaim PoK? Himanta Biswa Sarma Explains the Reason

Since Independence

Amidst the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, there is intense discussion on Pakistan-occupied Kashmir. Senior BJP leaders including Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, and External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar are asserting that PoK is an integral part of India.

BJP is seeking over 400 seats from the electorate throughout the election. This raises the question: why is there a need for 400 seats to reclaim Pakistan-occupied Kashmir? Can't this task be accomplished with a simple majority of 272 seats?

BJP leader and Chief Minister of Assam, Himanta Biswa Sarma, has now provided an answer to this question.

Why 400 Seats Needed to Reclaim PoK?

Himanta Biswa Sarma responded to the question of why 400 seats are needed to reclaim Pakistan-occupied Kashmir by stating that it is not feasible with just 272 seats.

He mentioned that there would be many who argue that Pakistan possesses nuclear bombs.

Himanta emphasized that there are many friends of Pakistan in our Parliament. Therefore, achieving a decisive leader and a strong Parliament is essential for the integration of PoK into India.

Entire Jammu and Kashmir is Ours," says Himanta

Himanta Biswa Sarma, Chief Minister of Assam, has stated that according to the Indian Constitution, the entire Jammu and Kashmir belongs to India.

Bringing the entire region of Jammu and Kashmir into India is our constitutional responsibility, and to fulfill this responsibility, we need more than 400 seats.

Bringing uniform civil laws into the country is our constitutional responsibility, and for this, we need more than 400 seats.

Earlier, Union Home Minister and BJP leader Amit Shah had said that PoK is part of India and we have the right to it, no one can deny it.

Farooq Abdullah and Congress leaders are now saying that Pakistan has nuclear bombs. Do not demand PoK. I want to ask them whether a country with a population of 1.3 billion will let go of its rights out of fear of anyone.

Rahul Gandhi should tell what his party people want to say by talking about Pakistan's honour.
