Last year too, two friends, after a long time of 73 years were brought together here

After 73 years, two friends reunited in the Kartarpur Corridor in November last year as well. At the time of partition, India's Sardar Gopal Singh (94) and Pakistan's Muhammad Bashir (91) were separated. In 2019, the Kartarpur Corridor brought these two friends together. The Corridor also helped bring together Dalbir Singh a resident of India, who was separated from his elder cousin Amir Singh during partition.

What is Kartarpur Corridor?

Corridor has been constructed in India from Dera Baba Nanak in Punjab to the International Border. This border is extended to the Narowal district of Pakistan to the Gurudwara. Kartarpur is considered to be the first Gurdwara and its foundation was laid by Guru Nanak Dev Ji. There is a visa-free travel arrangement for the pilgrims going from India to pay their respects here.
