CWC Meeting Held Today at Sonia Gandhi’s Residence

Today, in the meeting of the Congress working Committee (CWC), there has been a discussion on forming a government in Maharashtra. During this meeting many senior leaders of the party attended.

The way to form a government in Maharashtra seems to be clear now. There was a meeting of Congress Working Committee today (Thursday). After the meeting was over, senior party leader Mallika Arjun Kharge said that the Congress Working Committee had discussed this and decided what steps to take next. We will work accordingly as decided in the meeting. For information, let us know that the meeting was held at the residence of Sonia Gandhi, the interim president of Congress. All senior party leaders AK Antony, Adhir Ranjan Chaudhary, Mallika Arjun Kharge were present in the meeting.

Congress leader KC Venugopal said that we have made the members of the CWC aware of the latest political situation in Maharashtra. Today Congress-NCP will continue its discussion. I think we will probably decide tomorrow in Mumbai.

Congress and NCP leaders met in Delhi on Wednesday to form the government in Maharashtra. But even after this, no result was reached about forming a government. The meeting took place at the residence of NCP chief Sharad Pawar. The meeting was called to discuss a common program. During this meeting, Ahmed Patel, Jairam Ramesh, Prithviraj Chavan, Mallikarjun Kharge, Naseem Khan and K.K. C. Venugopal were present. Shiv Sena MP Sanjay Raut said that NCP, Congress and Shiv Sena will form government in Maharashtra together. However, before this meeting he had said that by Thursday afternoon the picture of forming a new government will be clear.
