The Budget Session 2022 of Parliament will begin with a debate on the Motion of Thanks for President Ram Nath Kovind's address. Both houses have been allowed 12 hours to discuss. PM Narendra Modi might respond to the discussion in Lok Sabha on February 7 and Rajya Sabha on February 8. The Bharatiya Janata Party's Harish Dwivedi will deliver the motion of thanks in the Lok Sabha today, while the party's Geeta alias Chandraprabha will present the move in the Rajya Sabha. On the third day of the budget session, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi will be the first speaker on the motion of appreciation to the President's speech in the Lok Sabha.

One hour of the entire debating period of 12 hours has been set aside for the opposition Congress. On Tuesday, just after Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman delivered the budget in Parliament, Rahul Gandhi rushed to Twitter to brand the Center's budget a "zero-sum budget."

In response to Rahul Gandhi's tweet, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman remarked during a post-Budget news conference on Tuesday that the Congress leader should first 'understand' the budget. The Finance Minister stated that he is prepared to face "criticism," but such remarks should not be made by someone who is simply supposed to be put on Twitter, especially if he has not done his study correctly.

When will PM Modi answer?

The Rajya Sabha will debate the Motion of Thanks on the President's Address for 12 hours, and Prime Minister Narendra Modi might respond on February 8. The Rajya Sabha's Business Advisory Committee, led by Chairman M Venkaiah Naidu, convened on Tuesday, and time was allowed for the motion of thanks and discussion on the Union Budget (2022-23). Members present their varied concerns during the debate of the President's remarks.

The government prepares the President's address. The Rajya Sabha will debate the Union Budget for more than 11 hours. Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman will respond to the discussion on February 11, according to Parliamentary Affairs Minister Pralhad Joshi. It was agreed to keep non-official business suspended on Friday, 11 February, pending his response.

There will be no legislative work!

Chairman Naidu informed the Business Advisory Committee that, due to time constraints, the government does not expect to present any legislative business during the first half of the budget session. During this time, there is no room for a short-term discussion or a call to attention move. Naidu asked the leaders once more to allow the Rajya Sabha to function normally. The meeting was attended by Speaker Piyush Goyal, Leader of the Opposition Mallikarjun Kharge, and other members of the Business Advisory Committee.
