Earlier on Saturday, the SIT under investigation recorded the statement of the girl's mother. The SIT called the girl's mother to a camp office on the police line, where she recorded her statements, questioning the student from rape to friendship with Sanjay.

She was questioned for four hours. The SIT asked when was the last time she spoke to the daughter after her disappearance, on which the mother told that she had spoken to her from an unknown number.

The SIT questioned whether the daughter ever told him about the misdeeds or physical abuse she was facing but she did not respond to that but revealed that the daughter said that " If you find my mobile turned off for half an hour you'll know that I am in a trouble".

The police also inquired about Sanjay from the girl's mother, since when did she know Sanjay and whether he used to visit her. He also replied that she knew him because of studying with his daughter
