Dravyavati Drama: Congress Politics Puts a Stop on River Making in 5-Year Plan

Dravyavati Drama: The politics whirlpool has caught the Dravyavati river and the makeover has not been completed in the last 5 years under the Congress Government.

The dream of taking a sidewalk on the river bank of this river, the project on which a whopping amount of Rs 1400 crore was spent, has not been realized to date

The maximum of the Dravyavati River falls in Civil Lines, Vidyadhar Nagar, Sanganer, and Bagru, and a portion of the river in Jhotwara and Bassi assembly constituencies.

Lakhs of the folks live on the banks of the river. Presently, the BJP has just two seats and Congress has its hands on the remaining and still the work has not been completed in the last five years under the Congress government rule.

The making of this river was the dream project of the BJP government. The former Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje wanted to change the view of Jaipur with this project. In 2018, out of a 47 km stretch, 17 km were inaugurated.

Water stagnation and foul smell worry the residents of the riverbank

The residents living on the river bank are troubled by the foul smell and waterlogging. Due to the under-construction of the river, the water is not flowing and is stagnant.

With this, the riverbank residents have also raised concerns about the uncleanliness of the river.

In the last assembly elections, the candidates from the BJP talked about the development of the Dravyavati river in the election campaign whereas on the other hand, the Congress candidates talked about the misuse of money.

Was there any misuse of the money? We don't know but what we know is as the politics play out, the Dravyavati River project is still a dream. The foul smell and standing water hinder the population living nearby.

The false promises made in the election campaigns seem far away, and the river's final view is still a dream. Will the Dravyavati story have a happy ending under Congress rule or not? Because the promises from Congress seem empty.
