Chennai Super Kings have moved up to the first position in the points table after beating Kolkata Knight Riders on the last ball in a breath-taking match. Ravindra Jadeja was the hero of Chennai's victory. When the entire team had given up hope, Jadeja swiftly turned the match towards CSK. But when he too got out in the last over, Deepak Chahar snatched the victory from KKR's mouth by taking the necessary wicket on the last ball.

Chennai win on the last ball

Chennai Super Kings defeated Kolkata Knight Riders in a thrilling match. The match was decided on the last ball of the last over. Batting first, KKR scored 171 for six, in reply to which Chennai won by scoring 172 for eight. This was the sixth time that Kolkata had lost an IPL match on the last ball while defending the score.

Despite the loss of one wicket, there has been no decline in the run rate of Chennai Super Kings. It seems that Moeen Ali has reached the crease by setting from the pavilion itself. Faf du Plessis is unbeaten on 38 and Moeen Ali on 11.

Rahul Tripathi (45 off 33 balls), Nitish Rana (37 not out off 27 balls), and Dinesh Karthik (26 off 11 balls) showed good hands. 44 runs were scored in the last three overs.

Venkatesh Iyer's innings came to an end in the next over after hitting Hazlewood for two boundaries in the fifth over. Captain Dhoni put Shardul Thakur on the attack for the first time in the sixth over. Iyer, who scored 18 runs in 14 balls, faced the first ball of the sixth over. He wanted to hit the full-length ball well outside the off-stump. The ball hit the outer edge of the bat and got stuck in the glove of the wicketkeeper.
