England's team is schedule to tour Pakistan for the first time in 16 years in October this year for 2 T20I. Before this series, the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) has taken a big decision. The board has decided to review the security ahead of the proposed tour of Pakistan amid concerns over the ongoing conflict in Pakistan's neighboring country Afghanistan. England is due to tour Pakistan in October with the men's team playing two T20s and the women's team playing two T20s and three ODIs in Rawalpindi.

On the other hand, the Taliban's takeover of Afghanistan has raised concerns over security issues in neighboring Pakistan. The Daily Mail quoted an ECB spokesperson as saying, "Security procedures and investigations are in place for any tour. We are planning a tour of Pakistan this October, where both men's and women's teams will go for a limited overs series."

ECB issued statement in this regard:

Pakistan was forced to play home international matches in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) after a terrorist attack on a Sri Lankan team bus in 2009. However, now international cricket has started in Pakistan and many countries have toured the country. But before every tour the respective boards take stock of the security in Pakistan.

Not only this, players from many countries have been skipping tours at an individual level due to security concerns. In 2016, England's Alex Hales and Eoin Morgan did not tour Bangladesh due to security reasons. However, Alex Hales later went on to play in the Pakistan Super League. Apart from this, many other players have also pulled out of PSL.
