Indian cricketer and all-rounder Hardik Pandya is trying to get his career back on track after being dropped from the Indian team after the T20 World Cup. Pandya has decided to drop himself from the domestic one-day tournament starting on Wednesday (December 8), the Vijay Hazare Trophy. He is now preparing to participate in a rehabilitation program in Mumbai.
Indeed, the Baroda Cricket Association (BCA) has sent an e-mail to Hardik Pandya. Through e-mail, BCA asked Hardik if he is available for the Vijay Hazare Trophy. In reply, Hardik sent a one-line reply saying that he is doing a rehab program.
Hardik Pandya had a back injury since 2019 and because of the injury, in the same year, Hardik also underwent surgery. But since then, he has not been able to achieve his full bowling fitness.
In the rehab program, it is being believed that he will engage in strengthening the back. On the other hand, Hardik's brother Krunal Pandya has joined the Baroda camp. The BCA has made it clear that the team can only include the players who will be present in the camp. Like Hardik, Krunal Pandya is also running out of the team.
It is compulsory for Hardik to play in domestic cricket to make a comeback in Team India. An instruction has been sent to the out-of-favor players by BCCI that they have to play in domestic tournaments like Vijay Hazare Trophy and Ranji Trophy to regain their fitness.
After completing his rehab program in Mumbai, Hardik Pandya will also have to go to the National Cricket Academy (NCA) for a fitness test. Earlier, cricketers used to get their fitness certificates directly from NCA but when Rahul Dravid became the head of NCA, he changed the rules. Now, according to the new rules, the players have to give a fitness test in front of the NCA coach to play in the cricket team.
