ICC World Cup 2023 Qualifiers: The ICC World Cup 2023 Qualifiers was played with ten teams who were playing to qualify for the ICC World Cup 2023 in India.

That ICC mega event of the fifty overs format will start from 5th October 2023 and the final match will be played on November 19th 2023.

The Qualifier 1 and Qualifier 2 teams, Sri Lanka and Netherlands will also take part in this event.

Sri Lanka has been undefeated in the ICC World Cup 2023 Qualifiers

The Lankan Tigers were the ODI World Cup champions in 1996. Sri Lanka won this ICC mega event under the leadership of Arjuna Ranatunga.

But because of their poor form in the fifty overs format, Dasun Shanaka and his men had to play the qualifying rounds which was held in Zimbabwe and they won all eight matches played in this event.

On the other hand, the inaugural world cup champions, West Indies didn’t qualify for this ICC mega event of the fifty overs format in India.

The Windies won the two starting editions of the ODI World Cup in 1975 and 1979. They were also in the race of winning their third back-to-back world cup title.

But it was Kapil Dev who stopped Clive Lloyd and his men from doing so in 1983.

West Indies had won just two games of this qualifying event and so they have been knocked out of the ICC World Cup in 2023.

Sri Lanka won their matches in the ICC World Cup 2023 Qualifiers against Oman, United Arab Emirates, Ireland, Scotland, and West Indies, twice against Zimbabwe and against Netherlands.

The Tigers are in the winning momentum from eight matches of the One Day International format. Pathum Nissanka, Dimuth Karunaratne, Wanindu Hasaranga and Maheesh Theekshana were the top performers for the Sri Lankan team in this tournament.

Orange army of the Netherlands storm into ICC World Cup 2023 in India

The second team to qualify for the ODI World Cup 2023 in India is the Netherlands. The Dutch team has done a good job in the ICC World Cup 2023 Qualifiers.

Despite losing the finals against Sri Lanka by a big margin of 128 runs yesterday, Sunday 9th July 2023, the Netherlands will still play the ICC mega event of the fifty overs format in India.

In this qualifying event in Zimbabwe, the Dutch side lost both matches against the Sri Lankan Team. However, the Netherlands had defeated the two-time ODI World Cup winners, the mighty West Indies team in the super over and also won their matches against Zimbabwe, Nepal Oman, Scotland, and the team of United States.

Vikramjit Singh and Scott Edwards were the top run-getters for the Netherlands side with the bat. Singh score 326 runs and Edwards scored 314 runs.

Logan van Beek and Bas de Leede were the highest wicket-takers for the Dutch side. Leede was the 3rd highest wicket-taker in that event with 15 wickets and Logan is placed ninth in that list with 12 wickets to his name.
