Steve Smith and co might not change their winning combination for the 3rd ODI match. But they will want their players to step up and deliver another match-winning performance.
For India, the loss in the 2nd ODI match is a wake-up and that too before the ICC World Cup 2023. India’s top three batters were undone by Mitchell Starc in two back-to-back games.
In Mumbai too, Starc picked up early wickets when the home side was chasing a low score of 189 runs. But that time KL Rahul and Ravindra Jadeja rescued the team quite brilliantly.

Jaddu and Rahul bailed India out of trouble by sharing a stand of unbeaten 108 runs in the first one-day international game at Wankhede Stadium.
But they need to show more consistency. The fast bowlers too leaked runs in the second match of this series. Shami and Siraj have been good overall for India and they will bounce back in Chennai.
Kuldeep Yadav too didn’t had a good game in both the one-day international matches.
India might go with just two spinners for the final ODI or they can replace Kuldeep with Washington Sundar, who can bowl in the powerplay overs and also lengthen the batting.
Sundar did well when India toured New Zealand in 2022 for the limited-overs series.
