There is going to happen a big player auction for the 15th season of the Indian Premier League. The Board of Control for Cricket in India has not announced the auction dates. Various dates have been discussed in distinct media reports. According to the report, it has been said that the auction will be held on February 7 and 8, while in another report, February 12 and 13 have been mentioned. While talking to BCCI Treasurer Arun Dhumal about this he dismissed these reports and said that the board has not yet decided on any date.
A senior BCCI official was quoted by news agency PTI on Wednesday (December 22) as saying that the auction will be held on February 7 and 8 in Bengaluru.
Cricbuzz in its report on Thursday (December 23) said that the auction will be held on February 12 and 13 in Bengaluru.
After Cricbuzz, news agency ANI mentioned aboard officially as saying that the auction could be held in Bengaluru or Kochi.

Arun Dhumal said that the BCCI has not yet taken any decision regarding the date. "The IPL auction will be held in the first or second week of February. The board is busy selecting the first place. The auction dates will be announced once the venue is finalised.
The Ahmedabad franchise has been in controversy ever since it became the new team of the IPL. CVC Capital, which bought it, was accused of having links with several betting companies. These companies are outside India. Controversy has deepened regarding this matter. The board had constituted a three-member inquiry committee after the matter came to light. The decision regarding the franchise has not been made yet.

The new franchise was announced by the BCCI on October 25 this year. The Lucknow franchise was bought by the Goenka Group for Rs 7090 crore. At the same time, the motherland ground of Ahmedabad will be Narendra Modi Stadium. Goenka Group has been a part of IPL even before this. He purchased the Rising Super Giants franchise in 2016 and 2017.
