IRE Vs IND: India has started their preparation for the next year’s T20 World Cup 2024 which will be played in West Indies and United States of America.
The men in blue under the leadership of Hardik Pandya are in the Caribbean for a five-match T20 International series. The hosts, West Indies have won the first match of this series and the second game will be played tomorrow at Guyana.
India is also scheduled to play the T20 International series against Ireland. The three-match series will begin from 18th August 2023 and the final two matches of the shortest format series will be played on 20th and 23rd August 2023.
All the three matches of this T20 International series will be played at The Village in Dublin.
The Irish Men have booked their tickets to the Caribbean and USA for next year’s T20 World Cup in 2024. They have qualified for that ICC mega event in the shortest format and this series against the men in blue side will be the first one after their qualification.
The home side, Ireland, have picked a full-strength squad for this series against India.
They have picked the players who have helped them to qualify for the 2024 T20 World Cup. Ireland has picked Fionn Hand, who is an all-round and Hand also made his debut in the Test match in June 2023.
Gareth Delany has also been brought back into the team for this series after he recovered from his broken wrist.
This series against India will allow the Irish Men to identify their areas of improvement and the home side will look to give chances to each their member of this T20 International squad.
So that they can be ready for the next year’s ICC Men’s T20 World Cup in 2024. Ireland has just 15 T20 International matches before the T20 World Cup.
So they will look to make a core team and improve the weaker areas. The below-named squad has the quality and the talent to face the Indian Team in this series and the 15 members of this squad will feature in the team some other time as well.
Last year as well Ireland also gave a threat to the Indian side in the last game of the series. However, India still managed to win the series by 2-0 margin.
