IRE Vs IND T20I Series: The Indian team will play a series of 2 Test matches, 3 One-Day international matches and 5 T20 International matches against The West Indies on their tour in 2023.
This tour to the Caribbean nation starts with two-match series of the red ball format from 12th July 2023 and then the white ball series will take place.
The Test and the fifty overs series will be captained by Rohit Sharma. While the series of the shortest format will be led by Hardik Pandya and Suryakumar Yadav has been named as the vice-captain of India’s T20I side.
The two youngsters who were not selected for the T20I series against The Windies might be part of the next away series.
After the tour of the Caribbean is over, India will head to Ireland in August 2023 to play a series of the shortest format. Last year as well, India had toured Ireland and Hardik Pandya had led Team India for the first time in that series which the men in blue side had won.
After his heroics with the Gujarat Titans team in the IPL, Hardik was bestowed the T20I captaincy of Team India.
According to the news and media reports, the series against the Irish Men will start from 18th August 2023 and the last final two T20 International games will be played on 20th and 23rd August 2023.
The reports also say that the players who weren’t selected for the T20I series against The West Indies might be called for the tour of Ireland.
Ruturaj Gaikwad and Rinku Singh will be part of the three-match T20I series against The Irish Men.
The new chairman of selectors Ajit Agarkar had a meeting with the other BCCI members and he has urged them to arrange more India A tours for the uncapped players because that will help when the time comes for selecting the players for a particular series and tournaments.
Before being named in the senior’s side, the BCCI will fringe the players in the India A team.
In the Indian Premier League 2023 edition, Rinku Singh and Ruturaj Gaikwad, both had impressive seasons. Rinku was a stellar batter for the Kolkata Knight Riders team and Gaikwad was the best opener for the Chennai Super Kings franchise team.
Many times, Rinku single-handedly guided his KKR side to many famous wins.
Rinku’s five sixes in the last over against Gujarat Titans in Ahmedabad is still an unforgettable moment and one of the best scenes of that edition.
At the same time, the opener from CSK too was solid in giving brilliant starts. Ruturaj had also contributed enough for CSK in their fifth title win this year.
Gaikwad had played for India before and his last match in Indian colours was against Ireland in 2022. In this season of the TATA IPL 2023, Rutu had scored 590 runs and Rinku had amassed 474 runs as a middle and lower order batter.
In the series against Ireland, we hope to see the solidity of Ruturaj and the explosiveness from Rinku.
