Former Indian Batsman Sachin Tendulkar has also given his opinion on ICC's proposal of four-day Test match. A day earlier, Indian team captain Virat Kohli also said that he was not in favor of four-day test match. Sachin said, 'Spinners do wonders on the fifth day by taking advantage of old ball and pitch. It is all a part of Test cricket. In such a situation, would it be appropriate that this right of spinners be taken away from them.'

Sachin said that T20s are happening today. ODIs are happening and now T-10s are also happening. In such a scenario, tampering with the purest format of cricket is not justified. There is no need. Sachin also said that this game cannot be made popular by reducing the Test by one day. Instead the ICC should focus on the quality of the pitches. Earlier, Virat Kohli said on Saturday that he was not in favor of ICC's four-day Test match as he believed that it would not do justice to the purest format of the game. According to Kohli, the day-night test is very much to take Test cricket forward because through it, Test cricket can be widely marketed. Apart from them, Glenn McGrath of Australia, Nathan Lyon, Vernon Philander of South Africa have also opposed it.

At the same time, Australia's veteran batsman Ricky Ponting also opposed the idea of ICC's four-day Test match and said that he was not in favor of such a change. Ponting said that I am against it, but I would like to know from those who got this idea in their mind what is the main reason behind it.
