ODI World Cup 2023: Fixtures of India’s Warm-Up Matches Have Been Announced

ODI World Cup 2023: This year the World Cup of the one-day international format will be played in India from 5th October 2023 to 19th November 2023.

India had won the World Cup of the fifty overs format when they had played last time at home in 2011.

Mahendra Singh Dhoni was the skipper who led the team to the final glory which came after 28 years and this time Rohit Sharma will eye to do the same in this year’s ODI World Cup 2023.

Before the ODI WC starts, the men in blue will also play the Asia Cup in the fifty-overs format.

India is the Asian King as they have won seven titles in this tournament. Rohit and Co are also the defending champions of the Asia Cup in the fifty-overs format.

India won the last ODI Asia Cup when it was played in 2018 in the United Arab Emirates.

The men in blue side will also look to defend their crown in this upcoming ODI Asia Cup 2023 which will be starting in Pakistan and the tournament will be continued in Sri Lanka.

This ACC event of the fifty format will start from 30th August 2023 to 17th September 2023.

ODI World Cup 2023: Guwahati and Thiruvananthapuram Will Host the Warm-Up Matches

The host country of this ODI World Cup 2023 will be playing two warm-up games before the real action of the fifty-overs World Cup event starts.

India will face the defending champions, England in the first practice match. 

That game will be hosted in Barsapara Cricket Stadium in Guwahati on Saturday, 30th September 2023. Then the men in blue side will face the Netherlands side in their last warm-up game.

That match will be played on Tuesday, 3rd October 2023 at Greenfield International Stadium in Thiruvananthapuram.

ODI World Cup 2023: Hyderabad is the Third Venue To Host The Warm-Up Match

The Indian Board, BCCI and the main board, International Cricket Council (ICC) have also listed Hyderabad as their third and the last venue to host the warm-up matches before the real action starts in this ODI World Cup 2023.

The main ICC event will start on Thursday, 5th October 2023 at Shri Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, where the two finalist teams of the 2019 World Cup will meet again to start the ODI World Cup 2023 proceedings.

The defending champions of this World Cup, England will take on the runners-up of the last World Cup, New Zealand in the first match of this ICC mega event of the fifty overs format.
