South Africa Beats West Indies by 16 Runs, Series Levelled at 1-1

The visiting team South Africa made a terrific comeback in the 2nd T20I against West Indies and defeated hosts West Indies by 16 runs. With this, the 5-match series has been level at 1-1. In this match, West Indies captain Kieron Pollard won the toss and elected to bowl. Proteas team scored 166 runs in the allotted 20 overs for the loss of 7 wickets. Captain Temba Bavuma scored the highest 46 runs for South Africa with the help of 5 fours and a six. Opener Reeza Hendricks also scored 42 runs. Quinton de Kock played the innings of 26 runs.  South Africa has only scored more runs in a Powerplay three times – 88 for 0 and 83 for 0 against England in 2016, and 78 for 0 against Zimbabwe in 2010.

On the other hand, Obed McCoy took 3 wickets for West Indies, while Kevin Sinclair took 2 wickets and Jason Holder and Andre Russell got one wicket each. At the same time, chasing the target of 167 runs, the West Indies team got a good start, but after that, the wickets started falling, which became the reason for the defeat. None of the West Indies players could show great performance in this match and lost the match by 16 runs. The team's star bowler Kagiso Rabada returned with the figures of 3 for 37. Meanwhile, George Linde (2/19) took two wickets.
