Asian Games 2023: The men in the blue side have reached the finals of the Asian Games 2023 season. After the Blues won their first match against Nepal, the team under Ruturaj Gaikwad registered their second win of this tournament today.

India won their semi-final one match versus Bangladesh by nine wickets.

Now the men in the blue side will wait for the winner of the match between Pakistan and Afghanistan to play the finals of the Asian Games 2023 season.

The final of this season will be played on Saturday, 7th October 2023. One can see all of these matches on the SonyLiv mobile application and Sony Sports Network television channel.

Indian Bowlers Dominated The Match Proceedings

After leaking some precious runs against Nepal in their very first game of the Asian Games 2023 season, the bowlers of the men in the blue side made a good comeback in their semifinal one match against Bangladesh which was played today, i.e. Friday, 6th October 2023.

All the games in this Asian tournament are being played at Pingfeng Campus Cricket Field in Hangzhou.

The Bangla Tigers won the toss and opted to bat first in this match. But Bangladesh had a sloppy approach when they batted in this crucial match of the Asian Games 2023.

Their batters were in no mood to fight like Nepal did some days ago at this stadium.

While chasing a mammoth score of 203 runs as a target, the batters from Nepal fell just 23 runs short of that total. But the batsmen of the Bangladeshi side couldn’t even post a three-figure total when they batted first on the same pitch and same venue.

Only Jaker Ali and Parvez Hossain could score in their 20s while the rest of the batters of Bangladesh were dismissed cheaply by the Indian bowlers.

The quality and experienced Indian bowlers were too good in front of the inexperienced team of Bangladesh. In this encounter, the Indian bowlers ensured that they would pick wickets at regular intervals and they will not allow any batters from Bangladesh to settle down in this game.

R Sai Kishore, who made his debut in the match versus Nepal, was the pick of the bowlers in this contest. Kishore could pick up just one wicket in his maiden match for India.

But in this encounter against Bangladesh, the spin bowler had taken three wickets to his name. Washington Sundar too got two wickets to his name.

Apart from Shivam Dube, the other bowlers like Arshdeep Singh, Ravi Bishnoi, Tilak Varma and Shahbaz Ahmed picked up one wicket each to their names.

When India came to chase that smallish score of 97 runs, they lost the centurion of the last match for a duck. Yashaswi Jaiswal was out on the fourth delivery of the Indian innings.

But the skipper of the men in blue side, Ruturaj Gaikwad stood tall in this run chase and with him, Tilak Varma was also present at the crease when team India won their second back-to-back match in a row in this Asian Games 2023.

Gaikwad and Varma ensured that their team reached the final on Saturday as India won this game by nine wickets.
