Yuvraj Singh, Shahid Afridi Bat for Resumption of Bilateral Series between Both Countries

Akash Singh

Former India and Pakistan cricketers Yuvraj Singh and Shahid Afridi has batted for the resumption of bilateral series between India and Pakistan. Both of them said that it would be good for the game. Yuvraj said this on Tuesday. He said that I remember the bilateral series against Pakistan in 2004, 2006 and 2008. However, it happens less nowadays. It is not in our hands.

He further said, 'We love cricket, so we play. We cannot decide which country to play against. But I can say one thing that there should be more cricket between India and Pakistan. This will be good for the game.' At the same time, Afridi also supported Yuvraj and said, 'The bilateral series between the two countries should be resumed. If this happens, its thrill will be more than the Ashes. However, we are unable to do so. Politics is dominating the love that the people of both countries have towards this game. I think we and India should leave some things and talk.' Yuvraj and Afridi are still playing T20 cricket after retirement.

Let us tell you that except for the ICC tournament, there was no bilateral series between India and Pakistan after 2013. Pakistan visited India seven years ago. Then three ODIs and two T20s were played between the two countries. No Test series have been played between the two countries since 2008.
