Bihar: Police Action in Journalist Vimal Yadav Murder Case, 4 Accused Arrested

Araria Journalist Murder Case: The Bihar Police have arrested four individuals in connection with the murder of journalist Vimal Yadav, who was fatally shot at his home in Araria district during the early hours of Friday (August 18).

Vimal Yadav, an employee of Dainik Jagran, was targeted by four assailants who arrived at his residence in Raniganj.

The police have disclosed that two out of the four individuals taken into custody were directly involved in the murder of Vimal Yadav.

Araria Journalist Murder Case: Complaint was Filed by the Father of Deceased

An FIR was lodged following a complaint filed by Vimal's father, listing eight individuals as suspects in the murder case. Today (August 19), four of these suspects were apprehended.

Furthermore, it should be noted that the same accused individuals were involved in the murder of Vimal Yadav's brother back in 2019.

Vimal was the only witness to that case and had been subjected to significant pressure to alter his testimony.

The murder has sparked substantial outrage within the state, with Chirag Paswan, leader of the Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas), criticizing Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar for the breakdown in maintaining law and order.

Subsequently, Nitish Kumar expressed his condolences regarding the Araria murder, stating, "Upon receiving the news, I have directed officials to promptly initiate necessary actions."

Araria Journalist Murder Case: What Exactly Happened

Early on Friday morning, around 4 AM, a group of 4 criminals knocked on the door of journalist Vimal's house. Upon hearing the noise, he went to open the gate. As soon as he opened the door, the criminals fired a series of shots at him, causing his tragic death.

The sound of gunshots alerted Vimal's wife, Pooja Devi, who rushed outside and found her husband lying on the ground, seriously injured.

With a heavy heart, she immediately called for help from the people nearby. Vimal was in critical condition, bleeding on the ground.

In response to Pooja's cries for help, concerned locals quickly gathered, and they promptly informed the Raniganj Police Station about the incident.

The police reached the scene swiftly. Witnessing the severity of the situation, they rushed Vimal to the hospital.

However, despite the efforts of the medical team, they declared Vimal deceased upon arrival at the hospital.
