Big Win for Security Forces in Chhattisgarh: 7 Naxalites Killed, Search Operation in Progress

In Chhattisgarh, seven Naxalites were killed in an encounter with security personnel in a forest near the Narayanpur-Bijapur border on Thursday.

Narayanpur Superintendent of Police (SP) Prabhat Kumar said that the encounter began around 11 AM when a joint team of security forces was conducting an anti-Naxal operation.

He explained that the Naxalites, finding themselves surrounded, began firing intermittently. In the retaliatory action, seven Naxalites were killed.

Search Operation in Progress

Prabhat Kumar said that a joint team of security personnel was conducting an anti-Naxal operation.

The operation included the District Reserve Guard, Bastar Fighters, and Special Task Force from Dantewada, Narayanpur, and Bastar districts, along with the state police.

So far, seven Naxalite bodies and weapons have been recovered from the encounter site.

He stated that the operation is still ongoing. The police had received intelligence inputs about the presence of Naxalites in the forest, which led to the raid.

With this incident, a total of 112 Naxalites have been killed in various encounters with security forces in the state this year.

Multiple Naxalites Killed Within a Month

On April 30, ten Naxalites, including three women, were killed in an encounter with security personnel in a forest near the Narayanpur-Kanker district border.

According to the police, on April 16, security forces killed 29 Naxalites in an encounter in Kanker district.

On May 10, twelve Naxalites were killed in an encounter with security personnel near Pidiya village in Bijapur district.
