Another Scandal Unfolds in Delhi! Fake Medicines Found in Government Hospitals, LG Recommends CBI Probe

Vijay Kumar Saxena, the Lieutenant Governor of Delhi, has written a letter to Chief Secretary Naresh Kumar, instructing a CBI investigation based on the report from the Vigilance Department regarding the presence of counterfeit medicines in Delhi government hospitals.

According to sources, the LG has ordered an inquiry into the purchase of these spurious drugs for hospitals by the Delhi government. The move comes in response to complaints and raises concerns about the irregular procurement of fake medicines, which have reportedly failed tests in both government and private laboratories.

Delhi Environment Minister Uninformed About Alleged Scam

Delhi's Environment Minister, Gopal Rai, has stated that he currently has no information on the matter. He mentioned that he will gather all relevant details, and the government will transparently address the issue.

Rai expressed that recommendations for CBI investigations are common occurrences, happening almost every third day, but results from such probes are often inconclusive.

BJP Leader Accuses Delhi Government of Endangering Lives with Faulty Medicines

Virendraa Sachdeva, a prominent BJP leader, has levelled serious accusations against the Delhi government, asserting that individuals undergoing treatment in Delhi government hospitals are alive only by the grace of God.

Sachdeva claims possession of lab reports, accusing the government of playing with people's lives. He stated that samples of medicines, anticipated to facilitate recovery, have failed quality checks, casting doubt on the efficacy of the treatments.
