Delhi: Bus Hits 5 Vehicles, Resulting in 1 Fatality and Several Injuries

Delhi Bus Accident: Yesterday (May 24), a tragic incident unfolded near Delhi's New Friends Colony area when a DTC cluster bus lost control and collided with multiple vehicles.

At around 4:45 p.m., a mishap occurred as the bus, en route from Nehru Place to Anand Vihar, veered out of control and collided with five vehicles.

Tragically, the incident resulted in the loss of one individual's life and left several others injured.

As per a senior police officer, a PCR call reporting the accident was received, prompting the immediate dispatch of a police team to the location.

Bus Crash Leaves Death and Injuries

According to eyewitnesses, the road was engulfed in chaos as the cluster bus lost control and forcefully collided with multiple vehicles that were unsuspectingly in its path.

The collision had severe consequences, especially for a Wagon R taxi, a three-wheeler, and a scooter, which absorbed the brunt of the impact. As a result, several individuals sustained injuries in the crash.

After the accident, the injured individuals were promptly transported to a nearby hospital, where unfortunately, one of them was pronounced brought dead by the doctors.

The identity of the deceased, who was riding a scooter with several bundles of sarees on the pillion seat, is still unknown.

The individuals who sustained injuries have been identified as Mohammad Saghir, Sajadul Islam, Mohammad Kalimuddin, and Mohammad Tahsin.

Investigation is ongoing to determine the cause of the accident

Following the accident, the police have initiated a manhunt to apprehend the bus driver, who fled the scene.

"The investigation is ongoing to determine the cause of the accident. We are exploring whether it was due to driver error or if a technical malfunction contributed to the incident," stated the officer.

A case has been registered at the New Friends Colony police station, invoking the appropriate sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).
