Adani Group Steps Up to Aid Kerala Landslide Victims, Donates ₹5 Crore to CM Relief Fund

Rescue operations are ongoing in Kerala's Wayanad following landslides triggered by heavy rainfall. The death toll has exceeded 150 and over 100 reported missing.

Amidst the crisis, Adani Group has stepped forward to assist the victims. Gautam Adani, Chairman of Adani Group, has donated ₹5 crore to the Kerala Chief Minister's Distress Relief Fund to aid those affected by the landslides.

Gautam Adani shared this information on social media platform X, stating, "We stand in solidarity with the people of Kerala during this difficult time. Our heartfelt condolences go out to the families who have lost their loved ones and to those affected by the landslides. We hope our contribution will help alleviate their pain to some extent and support the relief efforts."

Rescue Operations Continue

So far, 800 people have been rescued. Teams from the Army, Air Force, NDRF, SDRF, police, and dog squads are working to assist those trapped by the landslides in Kerala.

Kerala Was Alerted Earlier: Home Minister

On Wednesday, Home Minister Amit Shah stated in Parliament, "An alert was sent to the Kerala government on July 23-24. If the government had acted promptly to evacuate people, the extent of the damage could have been minimized."

PM Announces Aid for Wayanad Landslide Victims

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has announced that ₹2 lakh will be provided from the PM National Relief Fund to the families of each person who lost their life in the Wayanad landslides. Additionally, ₹50,000 will be given as financial aid to those injured.
