Kerala Serial Blasts: In Kerala, a series of explosions occurred at a convention centre in Kalamassery on Sunday, resulting in the tragic death of three individuals and leaving approximately 50 people injured. At the time of the blasts, a prayer meeting was in progress.

The responsibility for these explosions was claimed by a 48-year-old man named Dominic Martin, who had surrendered earlier.

He now asserts that he acquired training on bomb-making from the internet and spent around 3,000 rupees for this purpose.

Explosives used in the Blasts were Low-grade IEDs

It is worth noting that Dominic Martin and his family had been residing in a rented house near Kochi for over five years, while he was previously employed in the Gulf.

As per sources, he had returned from the Gulf just two months before the serial blasts, seemingly intending to orchestrate the blasts.

Preliminary investigations have revealed that the explosives used in the blasts were low-grade IEDs, typically found in fireworks.

According to sources, the suspect, Martin, gathered improvised explosive devices (IEDs) at his residence with the intent of causing explosions during a convention of the "Jehovah's Witnesses" community.

Before surrendering, Martin also posted a video message on social media. In the video, he claimed that he decided to carry out the bombings because he believed that the community's teachings were seditious.

He argued that the community was imparting improper values to both adults and children, and he had appealed for its disruption. However, his plea went unnoticed.
