MP: PM Modi Criticises Opposition's Stance on Triple Talaq and Emphasizes the Need for Uniform Civil Code

PM Modi's remarks sparked a heated debate among political parties, with some supporting his call for a Uniform Civil Code, while others expressed reservations and concerns about potential infringements on religious freedom during a public meeting on ‘Mera Booth Sabse Majboot’.

The issue of Triple Talaq and the need for a Uniform Civil Code have long been subjects of contention in Indian politics, with various stakeholders expressing differing opinions.

Opposition was attempting to "instigate" Muslims about the UCC issue: PM Modi

We can see how attempts are being made to inflame people nowadays under the guise of a Uniform Civil Code. Tell me, can a house operate if one family member is subject to one law, while another family member is subject to a different law?

How is it possible for a nation to run on such a dual system? We must keep in mind that the Indian Constitution also mentions citizens' having equal rights.

These people blame us. But in reality, it's these individuals who shout "Musalman, Musalman," he continued, adding that if they are truly worried about Muslims' welfare, the majority of families, involving my Muslim brothers and sisters, wouldn't fall behind in employment and education, and they wouldn't have to endure a difficult life.

Bring a Uniform Civil Code, the Supreme Court has frequently proclaimed (while waving a stick). However, those interested in vote-bank politics are the ones making life difficult for our underprivileged Muslim family members.

Goa, Gujarat, Uttarakhand, and MP working towards implementing UCC

Goa, Gujarat, Uttarakhand, and Madhya Pradesh are among the state BJP governments that have already started working to implement a UCC. According to BJP officials, the party is confident that it has the necessary support to pass the UCC if a bill authorizing it is presented in Parliament as a result of the Law Commission's findings.

According to the sources, the matter might be discussed during the House's winter session. But there are other obstacles too that BJP has to work on.

Triple Talaq not only does wrong to daughters, it also destroys the family of that girl: PM Modi

What will happen to the parents of a daughter who is sent to her marital home with high hopes and is later divorced by reciting the triple talaq after 8–10 years?

Therefore, it is untrue to claim that triple talaq is unfair to just daughters. The PM added that if triple talaq was relevant to Islam, the majority of Muslim countries would not have abolished it because it destroys the entire family.

Why is triple talaq absent in Pakistan, Indonesia, Qatar, Jordan, Syria, Bangladesh, and other nations with a majority of Muslims?

"Four days ago, I travelled to Egypt. The population of Sunni Muslim Egypt is around 90%. There, triple talaq was prohibited between 80 and 90 years ago.

Why is triple talaq absent in Pakistan, Indonesia, Qatar, Jordan, Syria, Bangladesh, and other nations with a majority of Muslims if it is a fundamental component of Islam?, PM Modi questioned.

Some people desire perpetual permission to mistreat Muslim daughters by draping them in the noose of Triple Talaq. I am aware of the reason why my Muslim sisters and daughters support Modi and the Bharatiya Janata Party.

"Our Muslim brothers and sisters in India must also be aware of the political parties that are destroying them in order to promote their own interests," he stated.

Country is bigger than party: PM Modi

Prior to the Madhya Pradesh Assembly elections, PM Modi encouraged BJP activists with his remarks. "For every BJP worker, the country is bigger than the party," he declared.

PM Modi Urges Voters to Support BJP for the Benefit of Their Own Kin

In his concluding remarks, Modi emphasized, "If your priority is the progress of Gandhi's children, choose the Congress. If your aim is to benefit Mulayam Singh's son, support the Samajwadi Party. If you wish to serve Lalu's family, vote for the RJD.

If you want to work towards the welfare of Sharad Pawar's daughter, back the NCP. If your concern lies with Abdullah's family, cast your vote for the National Conference. If you seek the betterment of Karunanidhi's grandchildren, align with the DMK. If you aspire to uplift Chandrashekhar Rao's daughter, support the TRS.

However, if you are committed to securing the well-being of your own sons, daughters, grandchildren, relatives, and your family's children, then vote for the BJP."
