Facebook Friendship Turns Tragic, US Woman Raped in Jaipur and Ajmer After Marriage Promise

A case of rape under the pretext of marriage involving a foreign woman has come to light from Rajasthan. Based on the victim's complaint, the police have registered a case and begun an investigation.

The foreign woman informed the police in her complaint that the accused kept her in different hotels in Ajmer and Jaipur for 15 days and repeatedly raped her.

The two had met through Facebook, which led to a friendship and eventually developed into a romantic relationship.

Superintendent of Police Hanuman Prasad Meena stated that the victim is a resident of the United States. In her written complaint, she mentioned that she became friends with a man named Manav Singh Rathore on Facebook.

NGO Helps US Woman Report Rape

During their first conversation, Manav had introduced himself as a lawyer. He promised marriage and raped her in Ajmer and Jaipur.

After the incident, the victim contacted an NGO in Bundi and filed a case at the Bundi Women's Police Station.

Given the seriousness of the matter, the police conducted a medical examination of the victim and started an investigation.

Police Filed a Case and Started an Investigation

The victim informed the police that the accused lawyer repeatedly raped her under the pretext of marriage. To deceive her, the accused took her to a temple and staged a fake marriage ceremony.

When the woman insisted on going to his house from the hotel, she discovered that he already had a wife and a child.

With the help of an NGO, she initially filed a zero FIR and then approached the Superintendent of Police. The police stated that they are investigating the matter seriously and will soon arrest the accused.
