Rajasthan: Damodar Agarwal to be BJP Candidate for Bhilwara Lok Sabha Seat, to Contest Against Congress's CP Joshi

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has announced Damodar Agarwal as its candidate from the Bhilwara Lok Sabha seat in Rajasthan. Agarwal currently serves as the Secretary of the party's state unit.

With this announcement, the BJP has declared candidates for all 25 seats in Rajasthan. Following the announcement, Damodar Agarwal expressed confidence in winning the elections by a significant margin during interactions with reporters.

He said, "I am pleased that the party has chosen me as its candidate. The contest in Bhilwara, my hometown, will be interesting. I have been working as an RSS (Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh) worker, BJP worker, and social worker for years.

Damodar Agarwal, who is considered close to PM Modi, will directly contest against Congress's former Vidhan Sabha Speaker, CP Joshi, from the Bhilwara Lok Sabha seat.

Congress has fielded CP Joshi from the Bhilwara seat. Damodar Agarwal, a resident of Bhilwara city, currently serves as the Pradesh Mahamantri (state president) of BJP and is also in charge of the Lok Sabha elections in Mewar.

Damodar Agarwal, the Pradesh Mahamantri of BJP, is known to be close to Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Previously, during the Vidhan Sabha elections, Damodar Agarwal has also been in charge of several Vidhan Sabha seats in Uttar Pradesh and Gujarat.

Damodar Agarwal has worked together with Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh as well.

Who is Damodar Agarwal?

Damodar Agarwal has been active in the political arena since 1971. He was born in the town of Jahajpur Kasba in the Lok Sabha constituency. Currently, he resides in the district headquarters of Bhilwara.

Damodar Agarwal has held various positions within the BJP organization, including being the district president and a member of the state working committee.

Additionally, he served as the opposition leader in the Bhilwara Municipal Council from 2005 to 2010. Presently, he holds the position of Pradesh Mahamantri (state president) of BJP in Mewar and is also responsible for overseeing the Lok Sabha elections in the region.

Damodar Agarwal is known for his strong organizational skills and extensive experience in leading various organizational roles.

Elections in Bhilwara Will Take Place on April 26th

In Rajasthan, the Lok Sabha elections will be held in two phases, on April 19th and April 26th. Bhilwara is one of the 13 constituencies where elections will take place in the second phase on April 26th.

In the first phase on April 19th, voting will occur in 12 constituencies including Ganganagar, Bikaner, Churu, Jhunjhunu, Sikar, Jaipur Rural, Jaipur, Alwar, Bharatpur, Karauli-Dholpur, Dausa, and Nagaur.

In the second phase, voting will take place in 13 constituencies including Tonk-Sawai Madhopur, Ajmer, Pali, Jodhpur, Barmer, Jalore, Udaipur, Banswara, Chittorgarh, Rajsamand, Bhilwara, Kota, and Jhalawar-Baran.
