Rajasthan Election 2023: BJP Announces Candidates for 124 Seats, Selection Process Underway for Remaining 76 Seats

Since Independence

Rajasthan Election 2023: In the run-up to the legislative elections in Rajasthan, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has already announced candidates for 124 out of the total 200 seats.

The selection process for the remaining 76 seats is currently in progress. On Friday, the BJP Core Committee held a meeting to discuss this matter.

A panel of two to three candidates has been prepared for some seats, while four to five names are under consideration for a few others.

This has effectively led to the finalization of candidates for almost all constituencies.

During the meeting, detailed discussions were held on the status of each seat, and efforts were made to ensure caste balance.

Furthermore, a subsequent meeting with senior leaders, including JP Nadda and Amit Shah, is planned before the Central Election Committee's meeting.

It is anticipated that some surprising names may surface in the candidate list this time. Additionally, efforts are being made to appease dissatisfied individuals and address concerns of those who may be discontented.

Rajasthan Election 2023: Candidate Selection Process Takes Place in Three Phases

It's worth noting that the BJP's candidate selection process occurs in three phases. In the first phase, the state's core committee discusses potential candidates.

In the second phase, a select group of leaders, referred to as the 'core group,' holds discussions. The core group includes senior BJP leaders, such as JP Nadda, the National President of the BJP, and Amit Shah, the Union Home Minister.

During this meeting, the party conducts a review of the surveys conducted and the names proposed by the core committee.

In the second phase, attempts are made to form individual panels, and these panels are then sent to the Election Committee for consideration.

In the third phase, discussions take place during the Central Election Committee meeting. The names of candidates for seats where a consensus is reached on a single panel are officially announced.
