Rajasthan Election 2023: In Rajasthan, the Assembly elections are set to take place on November 25. The Congress party is expected to release its first list of candidates soon.

It is reported that the Congress has finalized the names of approximately 30 candidates, and these individuals have also been instructed by the party leadership to start preparations for the elections.

Rajasthan Congress Pradesh Committee chief, Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa, mentioned on Wednesday that the list of Congress candidates will be out within the next couple of days.

In the list, there will be double candidates fielded against the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).

During the meeting of the Central Election Committee in Delhi, it was revealed that the names for the first list of candidates in Rajasthan have been decided.

However, Rahul Gandhi has requested a reevaluation of some of the names before the final announcement.

Rajasthan Election 2023: Congress's Key Contenders

In the upcoming Rajasthan Assembly elections, the Congress party is making strategic moves by considering a lineup of prominent leaders for its first list of candidates.

The party may include the names of leaders who have had consistent electoral successes.

Among these potential candidates, Govind Singh Dotasra from Laxmangarh, Ashok Gehlot from Sardarpura, Dr. C.P. Joshi from Nathdwara, Sachin Pilot from Tonk, Harish Chaudhary from Baytu, Raghu Sharma from Kekri, and Dheeraj Gurjar from Jahazpur are in the spotlight to secure tickets.

Additionally, it is believed that Raghuvir Meena could receive a ticket from Salumbar. The final selection of candidates seems imminent, including Pramod Jain Bhaya from Anta, Mahendrajeet Singh Malviya from Bagidora, Vishvendra Singh from Deeg-Kumher, Parasadi Lal Meena from Lalsot, Arjun Bamniya from Banswara, Pratap Singh Khachariyawas from Civil Lines, Govind Meghwal from Khajuwala, Ramesh Meena from Sapotara, Brijendra Ola from Jhunjhunu, and Ram Lal Jat from Mandal.

Rajasthan Election 2023: 15 MLAs at Risk of Losing Tickets

The Congress party has been engaged in extensive discussions regarding candidate selection for the upcoming elections. The Screening Committee and the State Election Committee conducted separate deliberations on various candidate names.

Moreover, significant leaders were also approached to submit their names for consideration. Subsequently, the Screening Committee held lengthy discussions on the candidate names.

Reports suggest that some incumbent MLAs, who displayed weaker performance in surveys, may face ticket cuts. Around 15 MLAs are under consideration for this action.

Following the discussions within the Screening Committee, the matter has now advanced to discussions in the Congress Central Election Committee (CEC) meeting, where the final decisions regarding these MLAs' tickets are being evaluated.
