Rajasthan Elections: Labourers in Kota Left Unpaid After Working for Shanti Dhariwal's Rally

Since Independence

Rajasthan Elections: In Rajasthan's Kota around 40 labourers have filed a police complaint. The complaint was the labourers were promised Rs 500 each by Congress Party workers to take part in a roadshow.

The roadshow was of state minister Shanti Dhariwal in Kota on Monday i.e. November 06. As per the labourers, they were denied the payment once the rally was over.

Kota's Dadabari police officials confirmed Tuesday's receipt of the complaint and prior inquiries but explained that no case had been filed yet.

An extensive look at the complaint

In the complaint, the labourers said that on Monday morning they were waiting for work at Keshopura Circle when a Congress candidate, who identified himself as Manish, asked the labourers to come and participate in the rally.

After the Congress candidate, Manish promised them the amount he took the labourers in two buses to JDB Circle.

The Congress flags were given to all of them along with the banners of Shanti Dhariwal and told to shout slogans in favour of the Dhariwal.

No one came to pay: Labourers

Rajesh Samaria, who was among one of those daily wagers, said the Congress candidate asked them to gather at Keshopura Circle in the evening after the roadshow was over.

And when the labourers who all marched in the roadshow reached there around 7:00 no one came to pay them.

They called Manish, the one who asked them to wait, but no one showed up. The labourers alleged that Congress workers made them fools and later Manish switched off his phone.

Samaria and the other workers have threatened protests and said they would troop to Shanti Dhariwal's office if their payment is not made.
