Yogi Adityanath, the chief minister of Uttar Pradesh, said important things about Sanatana Dharma on September 13 addressing a gathering.
Sanatana Dharma, generally referred to as Hinduism, is the Rashtriya (national) religion of Bharat (India), according to him.
Adityanath's remarks were in response to contentious remarks made by Udhayanidhi Stalin, the leader of the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK), who had criticised Sanatana Dharma.
Adityanath voiced his displeasure at the continued disrespect being shown to Sanatana Dharma, a faith that has long been the target of assaults.

The Chief Minister compared the historical assaults on Sanatana Dharma to the scepticism of God's reality and existence.
He bemoaned the fact that some Indians still denigrate this age-old custom and exploit any chance to criticise Indian ideals and principles.
Adityanath made a reference to the Ramayana's figure Ravan, who questioned the existence of God but was finally destroyed by his ego, in his address. This allusion emphasised the toughness and tenacity of Sanatan Dharma.
A DMK lawmaker and minister from Tamil Nadu named Udhayanidhi Stalin caused controversy in the past by equating Sanatan Dharma with ailments including the coronavirus, malaria, and dengue.
He advocated its eradication, a suggestion that drew a lot of attention and backlash.
Adityanath also brought up historical incidents like the Mughal emperor Babar's effort to destroy the Ram temple in Ayodhya.
He pointed out that after 500 years, a beautiful temple is now being built at the Ram Janmabhoomi site in spite of this destruction.
He stated that for Indians, the term "Hindu" refers to more than only their religion and criticised those who sought to restrict the meaning of this identity.
Adityanath addressed the continuing discussion of "Bharat Vs India," noting that the nation has long been referred to as Bharat and its people as "Hindus."
He also used the instance of Muslims from Bangladesh, India, and Pakistan being referred to as "Hindus" when they visit Saudi Arabia to do the Haj pilgrimage.
The Chief Minister also praised Rishi Sunak, the prime minister of the United Kingdom, for publicly embracing his Hindu identity while in India for the G20 conference.
He emphasised Sunak's dedication to Hindu traditions and rituals as evidence of his adherence to the principles and origins of Sanatana Dharma.
