UP Election: ED's Joint Director Rajeshwar Singh's VRS Approved, may Contest UP Polls on BJP Ticket
As the dates for the Uttar Pradesh assembly elections are approaching, the political equations of the state are changing rapidly. In this election, there are many such faces who are trying their luck in the electoral field for the first time. At the same time, another name has been added to the list of officers who have left government job and tried their luck in politics. Rajeshwar Singh, Joint Director of Enforcement Directorate (ED) Lucknow office, has taken his VRS (Voluntary Retirement Scheme) late on Monday night. Along with this, it was also imposed that he can also contest elections.

Former Joint Director of Enforcement Directorate (ED) Rajeshwar Singh is being speculated to join BJP and it is being said that he can contest from any one seat in Sultanpur or Lucknow. In his letter, he said, 'Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah, BJP President JP Nadda, UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath have resolved to make India a Vishwa Shakti and Vishwa Guru, I am also a participant in the mission of this process of nation-building. I will be and will contribute to the conviction.
Rajeshwar Singh is a 1994 batch officer of the Provincial Police Service (PPS). He has been posted as CO Gomtinagar and CO Mahanagar in Lucknow. Rajeshwar Singh has investigated many important cases like the 2G scam, Jaganmohan Reddy case, Commonwealth Games case, AgustaWestland helicopter deal case. On the other hand, Congress leader Karti Chidambaram attacked Singh indirectly through Twitter without naming him. Chidambaram tweeted, "Taking VRS from ED to join BJP is like moving from a wholly-owned subsidiary to a parent company.
