A shocking incident of assault has come to light at Banaras Hindu University (BHU) in Varanasi, once again involving a student. This time, it is an IIT-BHU student who has become the victim.

Following the recent incident of assault on the student last night, there is widespread anger among BHU students, with more than 2,000 students demanding justice for the victim and initiating protests on campus.

Students are calling for strict action against the accused perpetrators.

BHU Campus Safety Under Scrutiny

In addition to seeking justice, there are demands for enhanced security measures within the BHU campus. It's worth noting that this isn't the first such incident of harassment at BHU.

In 2017, a similar case involving a student had sparked nationwide outrage. However, despite these past incidents, there still seems to be a lack of effective security arrangements on the BHU campus.

IIT-BHU Second-Year Student was Assaulted by Group of Outsiders

In this recent incident, an IIT-BHU second-year student was assaulted by a group of outsiders when she was moving from one place to another within the campus with a fellow student late at night.

The perpetrators forcibly separated the students and subjected the female student to harassment and assault.

The accused individuals went as far as to forcibly strip the student and stole her mobile phone, capturing inappropriate images of her.

Once the college students became aware of the incident, over 2,000 of them gathered on campus with banners and placards on Thursday to protest the incident. The protest is ongoing.
