A BJP leader was shot and killed in Moradabad, Uttar Pradesh, as he was taking an evening stroll outside his apartment.
The attackers on a bike arrived and fired multiple shots, capturing the entire incident on CCTV. The police have filed an FIR against four suspects.
The incident occurred in the Mujhola police jurisdiction. The BJP leader, Anuj Chaudhary, was with his brother when three assailants on a bike arrived, firing shots and fatally injuring him.
Anuj succumbed to his injuries after being rushed to a private hospital.
Allegations have been made by the family that the murder was a result of political rivalry, stemming from Anuj's bid for the position of Block Pramukh.
The local police are investigating the matter, having formed a team to apprehend the assailants.
Local police superintendent Hemraj Meena stated that the investigation revealed that Anuj was shot from behind by some individuals. The forensic team and other investigative units have been deployed to gather evidence.
