CM Mamata Banerjee's Speech Blunder: Rakesh Sharma or Rakesh Roshan in Space?

Deepak Sharma

As India celebrated the historic achievement of Chandrayaan-3's landing on the lunar south pole on Wednesday, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee inadvertently sparked a new controversy during a public event in Kolkata.

She mistakenly mentioned Bollywood actor and filmmaker Rakesh Roshan instead of the actual space traveller, Rakesh Sharma, in her speech. This error quickly became a talking point on social media.

CM Mamata Banerjee expressed, "On behalf of the people of West Bengal, I extend my advance congratulations to ISRO. Scientists deserve credit; the nation deserves praise. When Rakesh Roshan landed on the moon, former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi asked him, 'How does India look from there?'"
