Instagram, the most popular photo and video sharing platform now working on full-screen compatibility content. The company is redesigning its algorithm to focus on content that supports full-screen reels.

Amid the weekly Ask Me Anything, CEO Adam Mosseri confirmed that Instagram will begin testing ultra-tall 9:16 photos "in a week or two" Adam said, you can have the tall videos but not the tall photos on Instagram. So, we thought to treat both equally and we should make photos that support full-screen compatibility.

Instagram is introducing an algorithm that supports taller 9:16 photos

However, Instagram tops in displaying vertical images that can be cropped accordingly. But now, Instagram is introducing an algorithm that supports taller 9:16 photos that will fill the entire screen as you scroll through the app's feed. CEO Adam Mosseri confirmed that Instagram will be testing this feature soon amid the weekly Ask Me Anything.

Instagram copied its Tik-Tok-like redesign

Lately, Instagram copied its Tik-Tok-like redesign. Due to this, many photographers criticized Instagram's Tik-Tok- like redesign as it is awkwardly showing all the photos in a 9:16 frame. The new feature also added overlay gradients to the bottom of the posts which would help in reading the text. But that interrupts the original work of photographers.

Mosseri noted many times during Instagram's shaky revamp test with users that the full-screen experience was less than optimal for photographs. Instagram still plans to display that ultra-tall photo experience, but without requiring it for everyone.

What’s your opinion on Instagram’s new idea of working on full-screen content? The official release date of this feature is still an open question. However, Instagram will first release this feature for some beta users to test its proper working.
